School Meals
Whether your child prefers a hot meal or a healthy packed lunch, we ensure lunchtime is a safe, social and supervised experience in our main school hall.
School Meals & Catering
Our nutritious school dinners are provided by Caterlink. To help our kitchen team prepare the correct number of fresh meals each day, we ask that all orders are placed at least a week in advance.
-
How to order: Log in to your School Gateway account.
-
Missed the deadline? If a meal isn’t ordered in time, please ensure your child comes to school with a packed lunch.
Free School Meals (2025-26)
We are pleased to share that school meals are currently available at no cost for the following groups:
-
Reception & Key Stage 1: All children are eligible via Universal Free School Meals.
-
Key Stage 2: For the 2025-26 academic year, meals are funded by the Mayor of London’s Primary school meal initiative.
Special Diets
If your child has a medical dietary requirement (allergy, intolerance or condition), please submit a Special Diet Request Form along with medical evidence to the school office. All requests are reviewed by Caterlink’s nutritionists to ensure safety. This can take up to 6 weeks. An individual menu is produced for each child that requires a special diet.
Pack Lunches – What you need to know
Healthy Eating & Nutrition Good nutrition is the foundation of your child’s growth, development and daily energy. A balanced, enjoyable lunch ensures they have the fuel they need to thrive, learn and play throughout the school day.
Packed Lunch Guidelines To support steady energy levels and long-term wellbeing, we ask that lunches avoid high-sugar and high-salt items.
-
Permitted: Nutritious, balanced meals.
-
Restricted: Please do not include sweets, chocolate or highly salted snacks.
-
Strict Allergy Awareness We have several students with severe, life-threatening allergies. To ensure their safety, we are a Nut-Free and Sesame-Free school. Important: Please double-check that all food items provided are free from nuts and sesame seeds.
FAQs
What if my child struggles to cut their food up or is a slow eater?
Staff provide assistance with cutting food while encouraging children to eat at their own pace. Slow eaters are given ample time and gentle prompts to help them stay focused and finish their meals comfortably.
Are food hygiene standards met?
High hygiene standards are maintained through regular official inspections. Staff wear gloves and hairnets for food handling, and while leftovers are recycled daily, post-service waste remains minimal.
How often do the menus change?
The menu rotates on a three-week cycle and is updated twice yearly to meet strict nutritional standards. All meals, including traditionally "unhealthy" options, are low in fat, salt and sugar. We prioritise scratch cooking—including all sauces—to minimise processed foods. Families are invited to share feedback via the Caterlink contact page.
